The Leningrad series comprises sets of quality large chessmen available in ebonised boxwood, acacia and anjan. To create these black pieces, a set of natural boxwood goes through a treatment called ebonisation. It's a long and painstaking process, but the results are certainly worth the wait to create the appearance of ebony, without its price and also further protect the wood.

Not only that, the Leningrad carving is slightly more ornate, especially on the knights. With their height, all the pieces look regal and elegant. These large pieces are nicely weighted and naturally polished with plush flocked bases in green. They are great for home and tournament use.
